Beekman Place apartments offer its inhabitants a truly unique living experience. Beekman is a tiny area found in Midtown East that runs from 1st Avenue to the East River and from 48th Street up to 51st Street. Its namesake, Beekman Place, is a short, quaint street with significant historical underpinnings, including the location of Mount Pleasant mansion, frequented by George Washington during his presidency and the site where Nathan Hale was tried and hung for treason. The mansion does not exist anymore, but the neighborhood still retains much of its original old-world style and character.

Residence options in Beekman are almost exclusively single-family townhouses with a few modern high rises located nearby. As one would assume, real estate prices are considerably above average and most residents are older and well-to-do. Due to its secluded feel, there is a close-knit community that most other areas in the city do not possess.

The neighborhood is truly a hidden treasure in Manhattan, a spot that most people do not know about or take the time to check out. It is one of the most peaceful and serene locations in the city, which is certainly appreciated by its limited number of residents. A favorite of many is Peter Detmold Park, located steps down from Beekman Place, where pet owners can utilize the dog run and parents can take their kids.
