Chelsea apartments offer residents opportunities to live in a great part of the city with plenty to do. Chelsea takes up a large portion of the west side of Manhattan from Broadway and 5th Avenue to the Hudson River and from 14th Street up to 34th Street. The space includes parts of several smaller neighborhoods, each with their own distinct feel, including the Meatpacking district, the western segment of the Flatiron district and the area south of Penn Station. This gay-friendly neighborhood has a diverse population with a large 20’s and 30’s contingent living among an older art-loving crowd.
Building options are very diverse with numerous high rise luxury buildings, low rise walkups and expansive lofts to choose from. Real estate prices therefore vary widely, depending on which section of the neighborhood you would like to reside in and the type of building desired. Some residents even choose to live specifically in southern Chelsea as a cheaper alternative to buying or renting in the West Village.
Chelsea is marked with some of the best “things to do” in New York City for every type of person. It is especially known for its dense selection of art galleries, where many people flock to catch an exhibition or two. If you are a sports enthusiast, Chelsea Piers offers athletes numerous fields, a driving range, an enormous gym, a climbing wall, multiple pools and any other services you can think of. Chelsea Market, a converted warehouse located in Meatpacking, is a cook’s dream, with countless food and supplies shops catering to whatever you desire. Finally, the High Line provides residents with a raised oasis, where one can take a nice stroll, enjoy views of the Hudson River or just lay around on a built-in wooden chaise lounge.
