Murray Hill Real Estate

Murray Hill apartments offer residents a variety of living options that cater to every budget. Murray Hill’s boundaries are always up for debate, but they generally run from Madison Avenue to the East River and from 28th Street to 42nd Street. Kips Bay is usually lumped into this area and some residents even call lower Murray Hill, Gramercy. The demographic tends to trend younger with families making up a small portion of the population. Real estate offerings include a multitude of high rise doorman buildings, and low rise elevator buildings or walk up townhouses take up the rest of the space.

Murray Hill is notoriously known to be a neighborhood dominated by fresh-out-of-college young adults who need a transition from college life to real life. On Third Avenue, one can find a number of bars catering to this crowd. There are about eight to ten major buildings that can almost replicate a college dorm for adults. If you happen to be from the tri-state area, you’re guaranteed to run into someone you know on the street or even in your elevator. Moreover, there was even a song created based on all of the stereotypes of this neighborhood, which became a viral hit on the Web.

The neighborhood does have some great attributes that most residents probably take for granted. Hidden gems do exist here, such as Grand Central Market, an excellent gourmet food destination, Wild Edibles, a combination fish store and seafood shack, and Penelope, a popular spot for brunch. It is also one of the better areas to watch sports with its solid selection of sports bars. Murray Hill’s central location could be considered its best aspect with excellent transportation options and proximity to Grand Central Station and Penn Station.
