Where To Live Next was created because of the lack of knowledge New York residents have about their own city’s neighborhoods. Sure, you go out at night down in the Lower East Side or you work in Midtown, but do you really know if you would want to live in either of those two places? The question of where to live next seems to come up all of the time in conversation, so we’ve created a resource that will help you make an informed decision.
The site is structured to present the user with an in-depth guide to each neighborhood in Manhattan. There is helpful information for each area, including overviews, apartment buildings, transportation options, a map, things to do and links to third-party listings sites for both rentals and sales. This is only the beginning of what the site will be able to do for its audience in the future.
In order to make the site more useful, a tool is currently being developed that will actually help individuals determine where to live next in New York City. Users will answer a set of multiple choice or rankings questions and a fancy algorithm will take all of that information and produce a report with the top neighborhoods that match the criteria entered. Once a user determines their top places to live, he or she can check out the neighborhood page for more information about each location and click on the appropriate links to view available listings.
In addition to this tool, a fun idea that is in the works is a feature that will answer the question, “If I were a NYC neighborhood, which would I be?” It will take into account your personality type, age, preferences, etc. and compare you to a neighborhood in Manhattan. It should be an interesting approach to helping you determine where to live next.
Furthermore, this blog will provide other useful information to help you live in New York City. It will focus mostly on real estate, neighborhoods and anything going on around town. If you would like to get in touch, feel free to shoot an email to info@wheretolivenext.com.
Thanks and enjoy the site!
